Doctor Weir

Elizabeth Weir is an accomplished and acclaimed American diplomat. After a personal request from U.S. President Henry Hayes in 2004, that career came to an abrupt end so that she could assume the role of the first ever of civilian commander of Stargate Command, essentially trading international diplomacy for interplanetary diplomacy. Soon afterwards, she took on the mantle of original commander of the Atlantis expedition in the Pegasus Galaxy, a role she held up until 2007 when she was captured by the Asurans with Weir’s physical body later dying when her consciousness was assimilated by the Asuran collective.
